For the "Big Cat" lover. Like something out of Africa
or the Rain Forests of Asia, these smaller, regal, loyal
and gentle hybrid cats are like no other!
Welcome to Iceni Bengals. We are a small inhome cattery located on the Gold Coast of Queensland.
Our Aim is to breed well socialized, healthy pedigree bengal kittens with superb temperaments.
We are currently breeding snow and brown, spotted and marble bengal kittens. All our cats and
kittens are well loved and mostly indoors. They are our pride, joy and much loved pets.
We strive to bring the beauty of the wild into your home.
All our cats have been FIV and FELV tested and are all negative.
We are also currently HCM testing.
ASIAN LEOPARD CAT
The Bengal cat is a new, exotic breed of domestic cat originally created by the breeding of a
wild Asian Leopard Cat to a domestic cat. The Abyssinian, Ocicat, Burmese , and Egyptian Mau
are also bred into the lines to help produce the 'type', spotted pelts and snow colours. The Bengal
breed allows us to love and admire wild cats and enjoy their beauty and uniqueness in our own
homes, while also benefiting from the domestic Bengal's bonding, entertaining and loving nature.
The first three Bengal generations (hybrids) are
listed as F1, F2, and F3. The F designation comes from
the Latin word “filius” which means "son" and refers
to a sequence of generations following the
parental generation.
F1 HYBRID
F2 HYBRID
F3 HYBRID
Bengals come in 2 patterns and a variety of colours.
First is the Spotted pattern, from small spots spread thickly over the body to large and
often rosetted spots. The rosettes come in different shapes and are often tri-coloured in
todays Bengals.
Rosettes come in 'pancake', 'pawprint' 'arrowhead' and 'donut'. They are all very destinct
and are a true beauty from the ALC.
Then we have the marble pattern.
This pattern should be symmetrical on both sides of the body and the pattern should swirl and flow
around the body, like the patterns in a glass marble. No bullseye pattern on the sides is best. You
literally find yourself "waiting to exhale" when you see the real beauty of the marbled pelt pattern.
There are five different color variations, Brown, Silver , Seal Sepia , Seal Mink and a Seal Lynx.
There is also a new colour being introduced which is blue.
The seal lynx being the palest shade of snow is born pure white. This is the only shade of snow
which
comes with the beautiful sea blue eyes. The markings develop on the seal lynx as it matures.
Seal mink is born with markings as is the seal sepia which is the darkest shade of snow.
Whether you are lucky enough to own a "show quality" Bengal
or a "pet quality" Bengal, you will find that once owned by them,
no other cat will ever quite do!
